David runs the continuing ed. harmonica program at the College of Dupage, the Harper College CE harp program, & teaches at Tunelark.com and at Chicago Old Town School of Folk Music, He is also a contributor at harmonica.com. He has taught 100s of players of all ages to play music & have fun on the harmonica, focusing on the Filisko Tongue Block Method to build a solid foundation of technique. He is authorized to use Filisko teaching materials & study pieces. Take your playing to the next level.
Areas of Focus
Old Time, Country Blues, Pre War Blues, Chicago Blues, and artist specific study songs is my specialty. I will help you add the layers of sound that make for really good harmonica. The blues breath control, blues horsepower, advanced tongue blocking techniques, tonal control and improvisation, and learning songs are all vital to being a well rounded player and is something I focus heavily on.

David does workshops around the country, teaches at SPAH, and helps as a SPAH Co-Seminar Coordinator. David starting out playing in bands during high school, And played in the Spanish Blues Band Azul De Noche, the multi tournament winning Jug band Strictly Jug Nuts, the Muscovy Ducks Cajun Harmonica Enable and the Three Kings Harp trio. He also has an acoustic duo project called Hal and Dave, but mainly spends his time fronting The Frozen Ground Blues Band.
